Budget - nothing on housing/mortgages
Hello newspagers,
You'll have seen that there was next to nothing on mortgages, rents or property in today's budget.
The OBR has however readjusted its forecast since last year and now says house prices will fall by 10 per cent from their high in the fourth quarter of 2022, a 1 percentage point larger fall than in its November forecast.
Given the burden faced by renters, first-time buyers and mortgage holders currently do you think the government should have done more to address this in today's budget?
This will be for our morning news letter at FTAdviser if you can come back to me before 8.30am tomorrow please.
Many thanks,
Jane
