Are foreign secondments worth it?

Hello! For this week's Telegraph Insight LinkedIn newsletter I am writing about foreign secondments. The companies offering workers the chance to work in their offices abroad, from what I have seen such placements can last from six months to up to two years. Some workers even try and use it to move permanently to their country where they are seconded.

I would love to hear from the following:

Companies who offer secondments:

• What are the conditions? Do employees have to have a certain number of years' loyalty under their belt?
• Why do you offer them? Is it primarily to combat employee burnout or do foreign offices really benefit that much from British workers?

For those who have done/are doing a secondment:

• What motivated you to do it? Was it a factor in taking the job in the first place? 
• hat has the experience been like?
• Did you use the move as a chance to move abroad permanently?
