Advisers, are you having issues with online exams?

Journalist: Amy Austin, FT Adviser

Advisers appear to be having issues with staff taking exams online whether this be via the CII or LIBF etc.

What issues are you seeing? What are the effect of these issues on those taking the exams? Is this a regular occurence?

Any help with this would be really appreciated - looking into it for a story,

We've had two staff experience issues last week with online exams. Our apprenticeship paraplanner was completely unable to access their first, RO1, exam, which resulted in lots of stress and a wasted day. As a result, he has now booked to take it in person at a dedicated test centre.

Separately, a paraplanner had issues with one of her LIBF exams.

As a trained background vetter to UK Gov security standards I am seeing too many online exam takers using Ai to artificially boost their scores. I'm also seeing an increase in AI created qualification certificates. Exam employers / payers / sponsors need to apply their own independent tests after exams to check knowledge. Such competency tests are simple to design. Currently about half of linkedin profiles show inaccurate background bios.
