Admin Alert: Tell us the search terms you want to own

ended 23. September 2026

Based on a detailed analysis of how the news content we generate performs in Google search and AI, we've launched a new research product, Newspage Research, that is initially being rolled out to financial services companies.

By way of example, we have a Newspage story that has held Page 1 of Google for a competitive search term since February 2025 — nineteen months — and still feeds the AI Overview for that search today. On the same Page 1, three of the results come from our newsroom, and many of those articles also feature in the AI Overview. We have the evidence and we're happy to share it.

HOW IT WORKS

You tell us a keyphrase you currently pay for in search, or want to rank for organically, on Page 1 of Google and in its AI Overview.

We then find the story in it. We research a question we think a news desk will want answered in that area, drawing on validated, publicly available data — because a desk takes a story, not a search term, and that is what gets you visible.

We write a fully impartial story on the research and wire it to the relevant national, regional and trade media. You are named as the sponsor of that research, and your views on the findings feature at the top of the article we write.

The dataset and the article are yours to keep, publish on your own site and use in your marketing.

WHAT IT CAN DO

If journalists take our story — and that is their call, not ours — the possible outcome is a news article that features you and ranks on Page 1 of Google for a specific search term.

That is most likely where the Page 1 is stagnant and carries no recent news coverage. And you, as the sponsor of that research, are quoted at the top of it.

A news article also reaches somewhere paid search cannot. AI Overviews cite journalism but do not cite ads.

A PPC campaign is invisible the moment you pause it, while our fee is a one-off and you can remain visible long after the fee has been paid.

INTERESTED?

Reply to this News Alert or, if you'd prefer, email editors@newspage.media with the search terms you want to rank for on Page 1 of Google. We will come back with the research piece we think will generate the news content most likely to get you there, along with the cost, which depends on the research involved.

TO BE CLEAR

We cannot promise media coverage and we never will. Neither do we promise backlinks or do-follow links. Each publisher has their own rules and policies on that front. We simply supply newsrooms with copy we believe is newsworthy, and publishers decide what runs. We cannot promise a Google position, either. What we can control is whether the research is good enough that journalists want it — which, in the end, is the one thing that moves the rest. And identifying hard news is what we do for a living.
