37 shops a day shut in 2024

Roughly 37 UK shops shut each day last year, according to provisional figures compiled by the Centre for Retail Research. In total, almost 13,500 retail stores shut their doors for good, a 28% increase on 2023. As retailers or retail experts, does this surprise you? And how is 2025 shaping up?
