I set up Rebecca Oxenham Jewellery in 2020 after being made redundant from my job in marketing working for a training organisation.At the time I was off work ill with what I was told was a viral infection which then developed into Long Covid which caused me chronic fatigue. I had worked in Marketing for over 25 years and although very qualified I struggled to find part time work. Unable to work full time I decided to turn what had been my hobby and side hustle into my business. This was also a difficult time for me, not only because of my poor health with an unknow illness but because the country was in chaos with the pandemic. Gradually I found I could work more and more and initially I offered freelance marketing as well but stopped so I could focus on Rebecca Oxenham Jewellery full time and branched out to offer jewellery making workshops and experience days to pass on my knowledge and passion to others.
