Lancashire Mind celebrates Children's Mental Health Week&nbsp; with fun and educational activities. The local charity invites schools, families, and young people to join them in promoting positive mental health and wellbeing. Lancashire Mind is celebrating Children's Mental Health Week (5-11 February 2024) with a range of free and engaging activities for schools, families, and young people. The theme of this year's Children's Mental Health Week is “My Voice Matters”, which encourages children and young people to explore the different ways they can share their feelings, thoughts, and ideas.<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYPbX8w33Cs&amp;t=1s">&nbsp;Our local children voice #childrensmentalhealthweek (youtube.com)</a> Lancashire Mind has created a variety of resources for schools to download for free from their website, including an assembly activity, worksheets, and videos. These resources aim to help teachers and pupils learn more about mental health and wellbeing, and how to express themselves in healthy ways. One of the highlights of the week is a virtual workshop with Lancashire Mind's wellbeing coach James, who will guide pupils through a fun and interactive session on how children can use their voice. The workshop can be used in a school assembly or in the classroom and is suitable for all ages and abilities. Another exciting activity is a colouring competition, where pupils can unleash their creativity and show how they express themselves through art. The competition is open to all primary and secondary schools in Lancashire, and the winners will receive a free mental health assembly, including a visit from Lancashire Mind's mascot Sunny the Bear. Lancashire Mind is also hosting an in-person event for parents and guardians to bring their children to, held at Chorley Library on Tuesday 6th February from 10am to 12pm. The event will feature a storytelling session, and a chance to meet the wellbeing coaches. The event is free to attend. Finally, Lancashire Mind has prepared some free top tips for children and young people to help them look after their mental health and wellbeing, which can be found on their website and social media channels. The tips include advice on how to talk to someone about how they feel, how to practice gratitude, how to cope with change and how to have fun. Lancashire’s Young Voices Amplify Mental Health Awareness in Inspiring Video

Mental health charity Lancashire Mind is proud to announce the extension of their free Virtual Wellbeing Coaching service, thanks to two years of additional funding donated by Booths.&nbsp;The service provides children and young people (aged 10 to 18) across the county with free of charge Wellbeing Coaching. Over six sessions, an experienced Wellbeing Coach will support the young person in understanding what barriers they face to good mental health, as well as working one-on-one to support and develop positive coping strategies to improve their wellbeing.James*, a young person we have supported through the service&nbsp;“The best thing about coaching was being able to talk about my stress and finding the best solutions to manage it. Lancashire Mind offers free support for children and young people across Lancashire. 

<h4>Chorley-based mental health charity, Lancashire Mind, will be holding its flagship festive event, Mental Elf, on Sunday 3rd December 2023 at Witton Park, Blackburn.</h4>This year there are opportunities to take part in the usual 5k and 10k runs, as well as a shorter 2k option. All ticket sales, donations and corporate sponsorship raised will generate vital funds to run the independent mental health charity. The event is family-friendly with a range of free activities on the day, such as storytelling, face painting and interactive well-being workshops.SPAR and wholesaler for the North of England, James Hall &amp; Co, have agreed to be headline sponsors once again.
