I’m Funmi, financial coach, educator, lawyer (non-practising), mama to 1, part-time gospel singer and hoop wearer. After a long career spanning over 15 years as a lawyer and compliance expert in financial services and after training with the UK pioneer of financial coaching, Simonne Gnessen, I founded Hoops Finance to provide an accessible, welcoming, jargon free space for people to talk and learn about the emotional and practical aspects of the (often) taboo topic of money. Alongside running Hoops Finance, I’m also the host of the monthly roundtable discussions for the Initiative of Financial Wellbeing and an active member of the national Financial Education Forum.
