Founder & Editor
HonestQuid
HonestQuid is an independent UK site that checks money offers against the provider's own published terms and reports the catch. Not an adviser and not FCA authorised - the work is verification rather than recommendation: reading what Ofgem, Ofcom, HMRC and Companies House actually publish, and finding where the headline and the reality diverge.

Recent examples. The July 2026 energy price cap is £1,862, up 13% from £1,641 - and we published a correction when our own earlier figure did not survive the arithmetic; both quarters derive exactly from Ofgem's published unit rates on one unchanged consumption basis, and the working is on the page so anyone can check it rather than take our word for it. HMRC's own guidance says there are no penalties for a late Making Tax Digital quarterly update in 2026-27, which almost no coverage of the 7 August deadline mentioned. And MSE's analysis of 47,000 tariffs found three in four customers worse off after Ofcom banned inflation-linked price rises, because a flat rise hits a £10 SIM far harder than a £60 bundle.

Happy to comment on energy bills and the price cap, broadband and mobile contracts, Making Tax Digital and small-company admin.
