Activist Neil co-founded Arts Emergency with comedian Josie Long in 2013, and has led the charity since. He has spoken in many contexts on the issues which drive this work - challenging nepotism and discrimination in the arts and cultural/academic industries, as well as on the value of arts and creativity for a healthy culture and for individual fulfilment. Neil can be available to speak on the work done by Arts Emergency, as well as on issues such as working class participation in the cultural industries, funding cuts to arts and humanities subjects in education, challenges and limitations faced by organisations seeking to develop better access routes for underrepresented young people, and what actions individuals can take to ensure a fairer future in their sector.
